Try the Weekend Special!

Over half the people on my trip had been on trails at Can Jou before which I think speaks for itself! I would wholeheartedly recommend the Weekend Special as a way to experience the trail riding at Can Jou without having to commit to a whole week of riding. We joined the Catalonia Discovery Trail and although we were only riding for 2 days it felt like more. The staff did everything possible to make sure we were well prepared and looked after and managed to combine some long days riding with still making us feel like we were ´on holiday´. Great!

Smugglers Trail [High Pyrenees]

My 4th visit to Can Jou [6th & 7th for my riding companions], we opted for a trail that was new to us. As our visit was during July we hoped that the high mountain trail would be cooler with a pleasant breeze, and so it was. Magnificent views, well away from roads and busy towns, here we could be at one with nature. Luis proved to be the perfect guide for this trail, sharing with us his passion for the mountains, flora and fauna. With just 3 nights away from Canjou and its delicious meals and comfortable rooms, we were delighted with our mountain village hotels and hospitality. The riding tracks were safe with no scary 'edges': many climbs and descents, some involving leading our horses down steepish tracks. We were very glad of the excellent advice to wear riding boots that were also suitable for walking. This trail did not include so many long trots and canters as other trails, however the varied terrain made for very interesting riding. We enjoyed swimming in rivers and ponds, and of course in the pool at Canjou. All in all quite a different experience from other trails - peace, tranquility, beauty, much laughter and of course, Cava! Can't wait till our next visit.....
